Nas Finally Addresses The January Kidnapping Of A Concert Promoter In Angola

by Danielle Harling (hiphopdx.com)

Nas explains why he was a no-show at the concert in Angola, says he felt thrown under the bus by kidnapped promoter.

Queens rapper Nas remained relatively quiet when it came to speaking on the kidnapping of a concert promoter in Angola at the top of the year, but the rapper finally broke his silence on today’s (March 28) episode of “Rap Fix Live.”
The New Jersey promoter (Patrick Allocco) and his son were kidnapped by another promoter (Henrique "Riquhino" Miguel) involved in the event after Nas was a no-show at a New Year’s Eve gig he was scheduled to appear at.
While speaking with Sway of MTV News, Nas went on to explain that there were a number of issues with the promoters of the show.
“He wanted me to come to Africa for New Year’s. Which to me I thought would be the best way to spend New Year’s,” said Nas. “You booked the flight, but no return flight. I didn’t have a visa. You didn’t send money til after I was supposed to jump on the plane to another country.”
Nas also added that he felt thrown under the bus by the promoter and explained that, “He was in some crazy danger in Africa so he threw me under the bus.”
Allocco and his son were eventually released once the money, $300,000 to be exact, was returned to the promoter.
